Beano Interactive Race Night - over £1,400 raised

Friday 16th March 2018

#TEAMNATHANFREEMAN in partnership with Richard and the Explorer Scouts hosted an interactive Beano Race Night on Friday 16th March to raise funds to support Nathan Freeman, a local wheelchair racer who has recently been selected to represent England at the CP Sports World Games in Spain in August 2018. The evening was a great success raising just over £1,400 with everyone who attended having a really fun time.

Nathan said, “It was a really great night which was enjoyed by all. I am really grateful to Richard and his team from Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit for running the event so professionally, to Ian Hart for sponsoring the whole evening, ‘The Caterers’ for the lovely food they provided, Goring Conservative Club for providing an ideal venue and to the local companies who supported the evening by sponsoring the races that included Empire Printworks, Frontline Associates, The Protein Ball Company, Symonds and Reading Estate Agents and Smart Drive UK. It really did feel like the whole community are behind me supporting me with my dream.”

"Jo and Brian Hammersley, who recently completed the Worthing Half Marathon were also at the event and presented me with the £270 they had raised. I was really grateful to them both for participating in their first ever half marathon and raising funds to support me.

A number of people attending have asked when we are holding the next event as they had so much fun and said the evening was real value for money!
