Nathans 2017 End of Year Report

Over the wheelchair racing season I have competed in 60 races, at 10 different places in the UK travelling over 3,500 miles!

In terms of my times I have knocked off the following:

  • 100m -1.53 secs
  • 200m - 4.60 secs
  • 400m - 15.28 secs
  • 800m - 51.18 secs
  • 1 mile - 44 secs
  • 5k - 4.43 minutes

This season I expanded the distances I competed in, doing the 800m, 5km and my first 3 mile at the London Wheelchair Mini Marathon.

I think for me my most memorable race has got to be winning Bronze at the London Wheelchair Mini Marathon.

I've learnt a lot this season, not just about the technical elements of racing but also about myself and I have had lows as well as many highs!

During the year I have been awarded The Diana Award, The CP Sports Colin Rains Trophy and The Worthing Herald Sports Star Award! All of them were a great surprise and I felt truly honoured.

I've been to Bromakin Wheelchairs to be measured for my new racing wheelchair which should, hopefully, be ready for collection by the end of January 2018 - I can't wait to start next season in my new chair.

It really has been a great year for me and I would like to thank everyone who has supported and believed in me, especially my twin brother Josh and #TEAMNATHANFREEMAN.

Chairmans Note

I would like to take this opportunity to add a little note to Nathans thanks. The enthusiasm, creativity and hard work of the whole fundraising team have been truly amazing. I would also like to add a personal thank you to Sheena and Derek for the provision of this website which will doubtless be so important to Nathans future success. Finally to Nathan and Josh who both make our efforts feel so worthwhile.
